Anyone else having this problem with KOTOR2?

I had the disk version installed, I uninstalled the disk version and installed the gog version, now everytime I start the game I get this error message saying I need a disk in drive D:, pressing continue or cancel does get me into the game, so this is at this point just an annoyance but I would like to get rid of it.

BTW I am playing on Windows 8.1

Any ideas?

It might be that you had the disc version installed previously. If it left traces behind when you uninstalled it then those remains may be interfering with the GOG installation of the game resulting in the message you are seeing.

I'd try uninstalling the GOG version, then doing a manual clean-up of any files left over in the installation folders (if there are any), in your user's AppData folder, and the registry. Then reboot your machine and install the GOG version (and run the GOG installer as administrator - though it may prompt for this anyway). Hopefully it will then be a clean, fresh install of the game and you won't get the message about no disc.

Let us know how you get on though.

Hi, thanks for the answer.

This was pretty much my first though, but I decided to check the forumst first before going through the process (yeah I am lazy), I did check the registry for something that might be pointing towards a disk drive or something but did not find anything. I was hoping to avoid the process of uninstalling and manually cleaning up but I suppose that will be my next option 8)
