One of these mods here for KOTOR just increases the duration of your buffing spells so you don't have to recast them as often.

I always hated having to recast buffing spells every 20 seconds, but some people think the buff spell duration mod is OP. I don't think it's OP really, because it doesn't change the basic mechanics of the spells or their stat changes. Just reduces the need to re-cast them so often for convenience of the user.

I mean, I always found it dumb how if I see a boss character across the room and buff up before I talk with him, by the time my conversation is done and the fight starts, the buffs have already worn off and need to be recasted...

What do you guys think?
It definitely will make the game easier since you won't have to spend 3 combat turns buffing up, but that's the whole problem. Combat turns are 6 seconds each (game is based on DnD rules); so casting Force Valor only gives 3 turns of buff before it wears off.

The game is pretty unbalanced if you have a good build anyways so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

I think it's silly that if you cast Energy Shield (120 secs), then Master Speed (36 secs), then Force Valor (20 Secs), then Force Aura (20 secs), then Force Shield (20 secs); Master speed and Force Valor will be almost over; with the other buffs running out within 2-3 turns.

So yeah it definitely makes the game much easier, but the combat is not about skill anyways so I'd rather just have fun with it.

KOTOR 2 seems to address this issue somewhat by giving Force Enlightenment (which casts all the buffs at once); but I still increase the buff durations in that game too since 20 seconds is just waaay too short IMO.
