dudalb: BTW the color issue has been fixed in the GOG version.
The issue has not been fixed with my GTX 750 on my Windows 7 computer.
GTX 1050 Ti + Windows 7. I couldn't manage to get rid of the "black and white screen" problem, despite of trying literally every solution available on the net. But there is a way out of this, and I can recomend it both for SWGB and for Age Of Empires as well. Plain and simple Windows XP virtual machine on Virtualbox. This one works like a charm.

antylope: Hi everyone!

I just wanted to add a new fix I've found. I've tried every patch online, I updated my AMD driver, I killed explorer a gazillion times but nothing worked. What did worked was this program called "DXWnd". It's a small soft that look to work with several old games.

The sourceforge link is (http://)
sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/
And a tutorial (because the developer didn't explain how the hell the program works) here: (http://www.)
play-old-pc-games.com/compatibility-tools/using-dxwnd/

Btw, when importing a game profile, I've used the AOE II and it works perfectly.

Hope someone finds it helpful.

bye!
Actually, yes! This is what actually worked for me. Like many here, my game was working fine for some years ago but, recently, I decided to give it a try and it was all black and white and distorted, so it is like a problem with the newer graphics drivers (both for NVIDIA and Radeon, apparently). Is a real let down that GOG hasn't released a patch to fix this, honestly.
