Hi,

my computer on win 10 got the same Problem as in other threads, but their solutions do not work or my reacts different:

I tried the following:

1. If i start through the normal way, the game doesn't start after the initial clips. But the process from the "battlegrounds_s1.exe" runs for hours on about 25% cpu usage, but it is not only one core working, they are all.

2. If i start with the "battleground_x1.exe" the clips don't start, but the exe works like in 1..

3. if i try to start from "swgbg.exe" the old Intallation menu pops up. If i try to install the error message says the setup.exe is not found. Than another error message follows with that a file is missing or damaged and should reinstall the game.

4. If i start "Battlegrounds.exe" the game starts without clips, but i can't play because my cd is missing. At that point i tried combinations of the previouse with that, but didn't work out.

5. I also tried to change the compatibility to win xp and 7.

Befor i changed my os from 7 to 10, it did work. (I didn't upgrade the

I hope someone can help, i really like this game.

Same issue here. Unable to play game in Windows 10, same symptoms as above.
the game starts with an unskippable FMV intro then goes back to desk top when it finishes. also on windows 10
I too have done all the reasonable suggestions on how to get this game to not crash mid game with no success. I have attempted all the suggestions that GOG has under their support page other than the turn off user control. No way am I doing that for any game. Clearly there is a flaw with this game and windows 10. Is anyone able to play this game on widows 10 without it crashing after 20 min to an hour. I think an hour is the longest I have been able to play.

For some reason, the widescreen patch posted here seemed to stop the crashes. I've been playing with it with no problem since I've installed it. It does modify the executable, so that's probably why.

And yes, I'm using Windows 10 64-bits.
I just upgraded to Windows 10 and my GOG Star Wars Galactic Battle Ground would not work. I tried several things, and after doing the compatibility tests with no success I went into the folder and selected the file "Battlegrounds" with a right click and then chose Open and it ran without the cut scenes in a slightly odd shaped window. But it worked. Now I need to find the right setting to get back to a full screen mode. Any suggestions?
Try this worked for me.

Controll Panel add windows Features --> Legacy features, select DirectDraw Apply.

Try to run the game.

I got mine working on Windows 10. I had to go to "Programs and Features" >"turn Windows features on or off" >"Legacy Components">"Direct Play".

This got me past the two intro videos but then it asked for a disc. Clicking cancel a few times took me to the menu.

This worked. It didn't ask for a disc.
I use Windows 10, and all of a sudden now, I cannot get the game to load from teh GoG application.
If I start it our of the folder - the.exe file, it is NOT the CLone campaign expansion.
ANYBODY with any ideas as to how to fix this?
