Hi all, I wonder if anyone can shine some light on this problem.

I play for about 5 minutes and then start to get periods of short term freezing, usually for around 5-10 seconds.

I've tried various compatability modes etc. And am current run with afinity set to CPU0 but still no luck.

Try to run the game with SystemMemory launch option. It allows the game to use System Memory instead of Video Memory. You need to create a shortcut of {PathToGame}\Star Wars - Galactic Battlegrounds\Game\battlegrounds_x1.exe and then:

1. Right click the new shortcut and select Properties.
2. Under the shortcut tab, you will see an area that says Target, this will list the exact location of the file within quotation marks.
3. Modify the Target adding the command line variable after the last quotation mark.
4. It will look like this - ...Game\battlegrounds_x1.exe" SystemMemory
5. Press apply and start your game via the shortcut.

Maybe this small fix will help you, or maybe not. Anyway, good luck!

Thanks for your repies guys.

xap4oru: Unfortunately no luck with your suggestion, the problem still perists.

nebulosas: While that seems to work it's not really much of a solution as loss of the expansion is a pretty major drawback.

Have you tried this mod?

That hasn't sloved the issue, but I feel like the periods of freezing are shorter now. I could just be imagining it though...

I terms of extra info on the problem, now I have working speakers again I've noticed that it is purely a game-based graphics issue. The sound continues to run normally when the screen freezes and I can still use desktop normally during a freeze when playing windowed.

Don't know if those extra bits will help any of you helpful people find a solution.
Thanks again.
I have a solution worked for me:

Open the CD/DVD disk and stay it open when you play the game.

I think that the game try to read the "CD-ROM" of the game and this is the reason of 5-10 sec. freezing.

Try this.
