I have lag after 30 minutes of gameplay in Star Wars Empire at War. It occurs for me after returning from a battle, and then the game continues to lag afterwards. This is not a hardware issue since I can play more hardware demanding games on my computer with ease. (eg: The Wild Hunt, StarCraft 2, CoD, Star Wars BattleFront 2, etc)

PC details:
CPU: Intel i7-2600 (3.40GHz)
GPU: AMD Radeon 6870
RAM: 12GB DDR3
OS: Windows 7 64Bit

Does anyone else have this problem as well?

Did you try to apply this patch?

http://help.disney.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/STAR-WARS-Empire-at-War-Update-Files#fix

Did you check

https://www.gog.com/forum/star_wars_empire_at_war_gold/possible_fix_game_stuttering_win_81_x64

I do not need to do this to have the game running on W8.1, but I DID needed the above mentioned patch.

The reason the game stutters when you get past week 200-300 because the game engine can no longer support the amount of ships that have been destroyed or have been built. There are a few ways to fix this doing the patch that goodaltgamer put up, using some high-quality mods like Thrawn's Revenge, within which the mods have found some magical way to push the limit back to around week 500 or so, that is the only mod that I use so, Icant speak for the others.
Thx you, i will test "Thrawn's Revenge" http://thrawnsrevenge.com/downloads

EDIT ; work fine, no lag with this mod ! Thx you !!! For information, you need install the mod in EAWX folder
