I have this game on steam. I'm wondering if anyone has had any success with a multiplayer game while running the GOG version.

I can get a multiplayer game running on my LAN if both computers are physically on my network, but I can't get it working with a VPN.

Has anyone had any luck with a VPN multiplayer game?

(note: I usually use TeamViewer for my VPN. I'm not 100% sure if I've tried any others for this game. We used to play via a Hamachi VPN, but we found TV more reliable)

The best way to play this online is to download GameRanger. It's a client that acts like the old GameSpy service, and was made specifically to support older titles that dont have official MP support anymore.

Hey Tall, linksword is absolutely right; I recently got Gameranger for XvT and XWA multiplayer and there are always games of EAW going on there.

Thanks Ragnar. I've tried to use GR in the past (maybe 3 years ago or so) and it just refused to work for anything except IL2. But I'll give it a try next time my bro and I want to give it a go. I think that will be a while though. Life is fast right now. :)

Yeah GR used to be really unreliable, I remember being told that by multiple people years ago. It seems a lot more stable now, though:)

Can anyone confirm that multiplayer works? I have this game on steam and it works BUT it was impossible to reload a saved game on multiplayer conquest mode.

I would love to hear if someone has played this online with a friend and was able to save and continue later. Let me know
