I'd like to be able to disable view bob (it causes some motion sickness and nausea) as well as enable vertical mouselook if possible. Playing on Ubuntu 14.04 if it makes a difference.

I'm assuming you mean Dark Forces?

Hit F6 in game to disable the sway. The game calls it "Headwave".

There is no way to enable vertical mouselook, unfortunately. I use a Keystroke to Gamepad application and set "page_up" "page_down" (the default look_up/look_down keystroke) to the right analogue stick. It quite inelegant, but it works.

There is a way script the mouse to keystrokes with GlovePie, but that is Windows only, as far as I know. I use Mint, so I have no idea how well that works.

Thanks, F6 will fix the biggest problem I had. Manually adjusting vertical aim isn't a huge issue. Thanks heaps, now I can play without wanting to spew after half an hour! :D
