You can buy the copy provided by GOG and thus support the work they did to restore the online multiplayer.

To threaten to torrent is not only childish but also doesn't really help your case.

im not saying i wanto or am going to torrent it. i bought and own the game. just missing a diski, to install the client....

torrent clients wont even work with a legit copy of the game key anyway

why should i have to buy a game i already own in hand from 2005

If you miss one of the discs of the CD edition of Battlefront 2 it is like missing piece of puzzle from a puzzle game. You can't do anything other than buying the very same edition again and replacing your missing piece with the same. Even if you get a key that will not make you able to install the game without the missing data parts.

When there was a discount I bought the game for $2.5 or so, even the cake was more expensive I bought some minutes ago. I own the DVD edition of Battlefront 2 but bought the game also here because that discount. Though I doesn't really like this changed multiplayer thingy but I have to say it would be good seeing the full-service multiplayer coming back.

There are multiple reasons.

a) You get the game on a modern digital platform, DRM free
b) You support the effort to maintain the platform
c) You support the effort to offer older games, adjusted to run on modern operating systems and hardware
d) Since the game is digital you can no longer lose any install CDs (and you won't need that key anymore)
e) Since there is no DRM you can make as many private copies of the install files as you wish

But there's also a reason against buying it again:

The multiplayer is not really playable right now.

But you don't own anymore, you just said you lost part of it. I know it sucks, but the fact is that you don't have it anymore. So you either buy it again or not. Your loss is no excuse for theft.

No. The key is not the game. To own the game you need the game itself and they key. You lost part of the game, therefore you don't have it anymore.

It means you damaged it and it no longer works. So yes, you don't have it. Same applies to everything else that's physical.
