I was wondering if I can play the GOG version of this game with my xbox 360 controller (or rather, my ps3 controller that acts as an xbox controller thanks to Xinput). Thanks in advance for any help on the matter.

It has decent, if not perfect, controller support. It has Dinput support (which the 360 controller drivers are compatible with), so you can bind movement and actions to the joysticks and buttons (takes a while for infantry, vehicles, Jedi, and starfighters), but you wont get vibration or the Pause button. The menu also isn't controller friendly.

I personally use Pinnacle profiler as I can add vibration, the Pause button, and have multiple actions on each button, and you don't have to rebind every time you install or mod the game. Let me know if I missed anything :)

Thanks for your answer, and sorry it took so long to reply. I'm currently using the free 20 day trial version of Pinnacle profiler, but it doesn't seem to let me have multiple actions on each button.

Once again, thanks for your help!

You need to create a Double Command, which is a type of Compound Command, then map that to the button (hover the mouse over the icons at the top). Hope you like PP, they tend to do a reduced price on the full version periodically.
I tried to use a PS3-Controller with the GOG-Version of this game. It does not work. The Controller does not work in the game.
Solution: Add the game to your Steam library as a foreign game. Then you are able to play with Controller.

Pinnacle Profiler can add vibration? How is that possible? I never heard about anything like that.
