Is there any way to shorten the time it takes to connect to a LAN game? Clicking on "Multiplayer" takes you to the Gamespy screen, and then clicking on the "Join" screen takes ten seconds before this screen loads, and then changing from internet to LAN takes a few seconds. I don't ever need to see the Gamespy screen , nor do I need the internet option. Can you make "Join" the default Multiplayer screen, and/or make LAN the default connection type?

Yah this is pretty annoying.. Amusingly enough, if you're not connected to the internet at the time you click that button, it times out instantly and lets you cancel the search without the freeze.

Not a solution, but an interesting thing. I tried editing my hosts file to instantly fail any Gamespy traffic to mimic the "no internet" thing, but was not able to figure it out.
