I'm in the process of getting a new pc up and running and was hoping to transfer my characters to it (lot of hours spent leveling up my helmets) but after I installed it on the new pc I thought I could simply copy the Star Viking folder from my old pc to the new but it didn't work. Does anyone know if there's a somewhere I can copy over to keep my stuff?

I think so, the save is in appdata/localLow/com_RogueSnail/

I have copied and pasted it for backups on the same PC but it doesn't seem signes at all so it should go smoothly from one PC to another.
