DocShady: Anybody here that used to play multiplayer in this game way back when? I was hardcore into this game back in the early 2000's. It was my first competitive multiplayer experience. Seeing this here brings back so many memories. Clans like SFI, WDT, EVIL, and SR were on the go at the time. This game was the one and only time where I totally dominated in a multiplayer setting. I was almost always #1 on the scoreboard. Infact, a website tracked kills in total and I was outscoring the bots that were on the servers 24/7. Sorry, just ranting on now because of the good times this game gave me. Cheers!
The multiplayer is still there just at certain hours and certain servers. I just got into a match with 16 actual people. There's alot more maps out there now and it seems some people have taken a renewed interest in it since Holomatch is free from The Last Outpost. The free version just saw a fresh release in October. It's a 1.4 patch that is applied over their 1.2 independent fork. It has FOV slider, updated menus, rendering, and plays on Windows AND Linux. The CD Check is disabled very similar to this version and comes with a dedicated server execute in case someone wants to permanently hook their own server machines up or an old PC. If you get kicked off a server because CD Check failed, just find another server. Those servers are in retail mode.
Bunch of crazy skins, and evidently - highly modded bounce maps and RPG servers, weird mutators... Yep, it's still here. People adding Star Wars skins, video game character skins, even saw a server with the Doom2016 version of Doomguy.
And this version can play with those on cMod/HolomatchMP from the Last Outpost.
