I have been through all discussions here... Windows 10, NVidia GTX 980 cards in SLI and not... no difference. It always crashes right after the Race Selection screen with a " ... has stopped working" message.

Bummer...

Thanks! I've tried all of that though. I may have just figured it out... will have to test when I get home. I've installed on a different system, and it seems that DirectPlay was needed to get it to run correctly. I will try re-installing DirectPlay when I get home to see if it resolves the issue.
Issue resolved... I am playing the game now. :)

Adding the "Feature" in Win10 for DirectPlay + uninstalling/re-installing SFC from the GOG file, plus setting compatibility to XP SP3/Admin, and running config for video driver all did the trick. The main thing that I was missing was adding the DirectPlay feature.

I hope this helps others who may be having the same issue that I was having in Win10.

How is this done?
Sorry. Not understanding that at all... but our situation seems exactly the same.
Works fine after enabling direct play.
