It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Game keeps randomly crashing to desktop.
Same here. Any ideas?
Seems a little bit better in Softwaremode, though

Tried every possible config. Contacted dupport. Let´s hope they come up with something.

I'd suggest messing around with graphic options, and if that doesn't help, contact Support.
Same here.

I also get massive screen flashes with the loading screen.
This game is unplayable at the moment. Every time I start a new game it crashes after about 3 or 4 minutes. Hopefully there will be a fix but beware and possibly don't buy until its fixed. Shame as one of my all time fave games!
What are the computer's specs? Are you trying to run this on Windows 8.X?
I have run the game on multiple machines between XP, Vista and Win 7 and the only irregularity I have seen is that on XP machines, the older driver kind of bottleneck when rendering too many particles at once (i.e. after hitting a target with an alpha strike with all weapons). The old disk version with v 1.03 did the same thing.

i5-3470
GTX960 4GB
8 GB Ram
Win 8.1
newest Drivers

The Game crashes almost instantly after entering a mission. Not even the slightest chance to initiate combat.
I have the same problems on my Windows 8.1 PC, random crashes after playing about 4-5 minutes. Maybe it is a Windows 8.x Problem?
I play with Win 8.1 and have CTD to. But after i switch to Softwaremode i can play....
get CTD after about a min or so
Hey all,

Setting to software mode fixes all the CTD, you can enter your captain's name, all key commands work, and there is no screen flickering. :)

I just played three missions with no difficulty and upgraded to a Federation light cruiser.

Go into the directory where you installed Starfleet Command and look for the executable called config. Switch your graphics to SOFTWARE MODE and 800x600 resolution and you should be good to go.

Thank you GOG for releasing this!!! Hopefully we will see Starfleet Command: Orion Pirates soon as that one is considered the BEST of the Starfleet Command series and there are brilliant mods for it.

In the meantime, I have some Klingons just aching for some Federation photon love. ;)
First thing to do it contact GOG support and send the the tech information they will ask for. Just complaining about it will not fix anything.
If you can play in software mode, then it might be a video card problem rather then a Windows 8 problem.

I don't think I'm complaining. It isn't a video card problem. Software mode frequently works for older games. Since it DOES work, why would I send a support ticket?
Well its seams to work.

As it seems to work at least in software-mode i would suggest to informing GOG about the D3D/Hardwareacceleration problems none the less. So they know about the issue and maybe look into it an hopwfully fix it.

And be it only for the sake of better graphics. The Mutara Nebula in the Wrath of Khan scenario looks horrid in softwaremode.
