So I was playing Saar for the first time, and I was amazed how much influence points I was getting and steamrolling the Heralds with diplo-only actions. I got several planets of them with that, and also a couple of systems. They always were passive in the voting, so I conquered them effortless. Until I challenged the system they had on the left side of the map, they started to spend all their influence points. I had wasted all negotiation cards so I couldn't turn the voting I decided that since I was the senate leader, I could purchase an eject card. I did, and they were ejected from the voting. So I received several notifications The heralds broke all our treaties and were now at war.

I didn't really focus on ships since I had no trouble so far, so I had several Ixian ships and a couple of dated designs. I was in the process of building my first destroyer a 3k sized ship with an atk power of 4.2Million. On the first Heralds attack most of my fleets were destroyed, except for an old battleship and the destroyer (which showed up late and killed most of the Heralds ships present in the system. I look up and see a new fleet had sneaked upon me: no problem! - I think - they are way below me in attack power, then I scroll a little more and see a frickin gargantuan battle ship, the size of a few planets with a 52 Million attack power.

I guess I learned that I should be such an ***hole to the guy who just activated the Revenant

(Some pretty pics to Illustrate the situation, one of the battle before the revenant's arrival, then my destroyer against that beast)

LOL totally!
One thing I wanted to add. I really love how conflicts escalate in this game. Usually start with border conflicts, players demanding planets from one other, rising tensions. I'd love to see some sort of news scroller mod that tell the events like "Tension rising betweek the Hoonan collective and the Saar Hive over the control of Rylx system" it'd be ultimately useless but it'd add a lot of immersion. I wonder if it's possible to create it since the game seems so mod friendly.

the result would be more cpu overhead that makes the game less lowend friendly but its a nice idea as an option you can turn off | on
