When it comes to space exploration in video games, it mostly comes in the “go there, shoot that” variety. Very few have actually managed to give the same experience of traversing the cosmos and discovering new worlds as Star Control 2 did. Well, yes, granted, there's Starflight, but that's a story for another time.
