Hey guys , i've buyed 2 days ago , all tree stalker series games

i've installed STALKER Shadow Of Chernobyl

buy when i try to setup the patch it tells me that the game isn't installed 'please reinstall"

by the way i've changed the game installation path to C:\Program Files(x86)\THQ\STALKER Shadow Of Chernobyl

please help me
Attachments:
Never, I mean NEVER, install games in C:\Program Files(x86)\ !!! - it's a protected system directory and it causes a lot of problems with games installed there.
Just make a separate directory (C:\Games\ or something like that; I use a separate HDD partition for games) and install all your games there. In fact, some games will still place some files in Documents and Settings directory (cofiguration files, saves, sometimes mods), but this is not a big problem.
Have you tried running it as administrator?

i've reinstalled the game in C:\GOG\STALKER Shadow Of Chernobyl

then i runned the patch as administrator and still the same probleme
Maybe antivirus or firewall blocking it, otherwise I don't know, maybe contact support.

The patch only replaces the GameSpy servers though, so it's not important if you intend to play singleplayer only.

Try GSC's Multi-Patch. This is the same fix installed in a different way and works fine with the GOG version (I used it before GOG released their version of it).

As Strijkbout mentioned this only affects multiplayer since GOG's base game already includes the Vsync fix.

I'm having the same problem, Shadow Of Chernobyl patch wont detect the base game, I keep all my games installed across a number of different internal HDDs and none on the HDD with the OS installed on it, I used the multi patch from the link above and it seemed to work but then I noticed the versions in the multi patch are behind the versions provided by GoG when it said that Call of Pripyat was the improper version

Same problem here.

GSC's installer fails to detect GOG's Call of Pripyat because of a mistake in the game version the GOG installer sets in the registry. The game itself is compatible with this update (GOG's update installs the same files).

The GOG version already has the Vsync fix so if you don't intend to use online multiplayer this patch doesn't have anything useful for you.

You can use GSC's Multi-Patch; to get around the installer check entirely (necessary for GOG's Call of Pripyat) you can extract the GOG/GSC patch installer manually with or [url=http://constexpr.org/innoextract/]innoextract and then move xrGameSpy.dll to the equivalent location in the game's installation folder (replacing the existing file when prompted).

Thanks, this worked for me, I was able to extract the xrGameSpy dll from the GoG patch and move it across. Though it refused to extract from the GSC installer.

I just purchased this game on the GoG sale and it says installation broken. I tried patching, repairing/verifying all this as an administrator and still not working. Any suggestions?
Shadow of Chernobyl patch not working here either. I installed SoC as Admin and get the error "Game installation not found, please reinstall." Installed to 'C:\GOG Games\'

I'll try GSC Multi-patch and see how that goes.

Edit: Seems to have worked? Didn't care to 'Enforce Vsync' though, since that just slows framerate with my ancient rig lol.
