How dare you asking questions? Be a good consoomer and pre-order already. Make sure to buy the DLCs too.

I suspect the date is set more or less randomly as they have no clue when they will be able to finish the game. A lot of the developers are preoccupied with things not related to developing games but has to do with the war currently going on.

Yeah, I felt that too. Obviously I'd love for the Ukrainian team to be able and develop this in peace and safety instead of the mess the world is in right now.

But geopolitics aside, this isn't the first game being marketed in the style. I find it really boring when you get a big spotlight on something (front page in this case) and then it turns out it's a 18-month minimum wait, where we can realistically expect that the date might well shift back a bit further.

Movies have been doing that too... seems that everyone wants to announce before the competition, so they end up announcing years ahead now.

I'm glad that GOG can get titles of this quality on release date, but a smaller news item without that "soon" would serve a more humble appearance.

That's called "Placeholder date". Never heard of that?

Considering it was intended to be released in 2012, end of 2023 is pretty soon now.

Release: When will Stalker 2 be released?
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is scheduled to be released in the 1st quarter of 2024, i.e. between January and the end of March. Since the announcement, the shooter has been postponed several times. An exact date is not known due to the unpredictable development of the Ukraine war.
