As soon as I open the game through the shortcut, it just opens a black window and then a small form type window with the title "callstack" and nothing in the body except just an OK button.
If I click OK or close the window through the task manager, the game just closes.

Any help, please?

Hey there. It's been a while, but if you or anyone else still experience this issue can you post here? Your system specs (such as those from a DxDiag log) will help in troubleshooting.

Something to try and get around this:

Edit the stackopt.sav.sav file in \Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Doublefine\Stacking with a text editor such as Notepad. Change the Windowed setting from 1 to 0. Save and try to launch the game.

Setting the game for Full Screen mode in the Options seemed to fix the problem for me.
