Since the last update on GOG ( released the 24/09 ), the game stay on the black screen with the yellow mouse cursor and nothing happens. On the previous version, at this moment there were a logo and a text like "loading saved data", and after several seconds, the game arrived to the start menu.

Just bought the game and having the same problem, so I don't have an older version available to downgrade to.

I don't have the previous version anymore. I'll contact the support of the dev.

Had a back and forth with one of them in the Steam discussions, and the solution for the time being seems to be to go to Spiritfarer/game/Spiritfarer_Data/StreamingAssets/Platform.info and just highlight and replace "GOG" with "DRM_FREE".

It works, i try and arrive to the start menu. Thanks.
I have contacted them and they are on it as i said it yesterday..

Seems like there are a lot of issues with displayed control prompts when doing this though, fortunately the actual mappings seem unaffected and the defaults are pretty intuitive.

Awesome! Thank you. This solved an issue I was having in the other thread that didn't get any traction.

Okay if anyone else is having the controller prompts issue, it brings things to a screeching halt when you need to play a song for the first time. 3/4 of the button prompts are missing which also makes the "there is a note here" notches invisible -- so even if I could figure out what button corresponded to what row of notes through trial and error, most of the notes are completely invisible! Definitely a patchwork solution for the moment.
