Does that mean 'local' multiplayer or is there a LAN mode?

On the steam page it says specifically 'local co-op', so it'll be on the same screen only, just like the 360 version.
I would also like to know if there is a LAN option, the gamecard is very ambiguous
Only local co-op, exactly the same as 360 version. No online multiplayer.

There is no LAN multiplayer, just splitscreen multiplayer. There is splitscreen coop and splitscreen deathmatch with up to 4 players.

Thanks for the Info, It must be a direct port from the xbox version

Yeah, I didn't play the XBLA version, but from what I can tell it looks to be be a direct port. There are added PC options, though, such as rebindable keys.
Oh well. Maybe I'll buy it if they get around to patching it in, but I guess I won't hold my breath for that.
It is definately a direct port from the xbox version.
Very dissapointing because only the tiniest bit of love and care would of made all the difference.
1) It's not recognising my installed gamepad even though it obviously is based around it.
2) The 'ps vita' version has different screen instancing, so why is there no LAN play as mossman has had long enough to implement and obviously are capable of doing it.
3) There is no setting for a 30" display, and the highest 16:9 won't scale and kicks me back to a lower 16:9 resolution.
4) WHERE ARE THE CONFIGS? where is the 'option decked' launcher? seriously
5) Play the original and you'll find the button combinations and character action much smoother and conducive to good gameplay. The number of times so far i've dropped off a ledge only to fall in a one deep hole, catch on the ledge and not be able to jump out because of instantly catching on the other edge, DAMN FRUSTRATING!!!
Just a quick note:

You can edit the Spelunky\Data\config.txt file to have the game run at any custom resolution you want. You'll have black bars at top and bottom if your screen ration isn't 16:9, but that is intentional to prevent players with different aspect ratios from seeing more of the level.
my spelunky does not even have multiplayer why not ?
