I'm having a problem getting through the tutorial of Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars at a pathetically early point. It wants me to "change my perspective" by clicking the mouse wheel or pressing Ins to move forward. (I have never played a Spellforce game before, so I really need to experience this tutorial to get anything out of the game. I've tried branching out into the freeplay modes and am having little luck and feeling overwhelmed.)

Here's the problem: I'm playing on a laptop, so I have no mouse wheel to click. I tried pressing "Ins" multiple times and it's not registering it. I also went into the options menu and changed the controls from "Mouse wheel" to "Ins" and tried it again. No luck.

I have tried searching for this problem all over Google (and the manual) and I'm not finding anyone else who has listed this problem, so I thought maybe someone here could help me out. Does anyone know how to get past this or why the Ins key isn't registering?

Okay, so...40 minutes and lots of cursing later, I got it to work. I'll post what I did here in the case anyone else ever has this problem.

After lots of continuous Google searching for ways to get around the mouse wheel on laptops, etc. (most of the responses of "click both the left and right button at the same time" were not applicable to my laptop), I had to completely change my computer's mouse settings to set my right mouse button as the "middle" mouse button, then go into the tutorial, press the button to get past that part of the tutorial, and then I had to save the game (since the right button was now set as the middle, giving my character a destination was not possible as I no longer had a "right" mouse button), exit the game, go back into the mouse settings, and switch everything back.

That had to be the most needlessly frustrating thing ever. Here's the direct path for others to follow if need be:

Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Devices & Printers > Mouse > Device Settings > Settings > Highlight "Buttons" > Hover Mouse over "Settings" and Click > Set "Right Button Action" to "Middle Click"

Then go into the game, change the view, hear the "yay! You completed a simple task!" talk from the tutorial dude, press T to move your view back, save, leave the game, follow the same path above, selecting "Secondary Click" for the "Right Button Action" settings to restore to default.

Phew. Glad that's over. I'm so exhausted now I don't even know if I'll go back to trying to play the darned game... :)
Thanks for the feedback, it might help some people.
