Well, everytime I try to start Spellforce Platinum with my monitor at 1440x900, I get the message "Desired resolution not found", and the game crashes. I've found a fix for this, via WSFG.org, but my antivirus blocks the access to the download of Spellforce.7z with a Malware filter

So, is anybody else getting this message, and know of a solution? Do you know if it is safe to download that file from WSFG? Thanks in advance.

Kaspersky Pure detects no threats. What antivirus are you using? Some have over the top false positive rates.

Zero of 49 antivirus solutions detect any threat whatsoever on VirusTotal, including BitDefender. Are you sure your definitions are up to date?

I just used the Virus Total website (thanks, I didn't know of it) on the url for the file, and it shows Malware Site on 3 out of 51results: BitDefender, Emsisoft and Yandex Safebrowsing.

Yeah, but it's the contents of the file that matters. Think about it: only 3 out of 51 say the url is dodgy. What does that tell you?

That it's probably safe, but I've been hit by viruses before, so I'm extra cautious. Anyway, I'm forcing a general update on BD, and will download the thing in a few moments.

If you are ever unsure (and one can never be 100% safe), you can always submit a ticket to BitDefender:

Okay, new problem. That version of the file gives me a "Unsupported Compression Method" message whan I try to extract, and apparently it only contains the exe file for 1920x1080 resolution, everything else appears as containing 0 bytes.

The archive is compressed as a 7zip archive. Download and use that (it's free).

Yep, I already had it. I just needed an update. Thanks for your help.
