I got pretty far in the original campaign before I put the game away for some time.

Reinstalled the OS in the meantime. Reinstalled the game, turns out my character (and all the associated saves) are... just not there. In game, that is, because the files are sitting looking pretty in their original save location (My Documents/SpellForce).

Just to be safe I reinstalled Spellforce again. Same thing. The game just seems to ignore all those files.

Same system. Same OS, just fresh reinstall. Same SpellForce installation file, too. Dafuq?

Kind of a tad annoyed at this point, given how far I got. Googling the issue didn't resolve in any fix.

Any ideas to try?
