Just picked up the game as it was on sale.

Tried to start it up, I hear the intro music, but It's only a black screen.

Is there a manual Screen Resolution config file that we can edit?

cfg file is in the "my documents" spellforce folder
changing fullscreen flag to 0 solved blackscreen's problem
also it has refresh rate at 180Hz, my monitor could not support it

If you happen to have more than one monitor connected, deactivate one monitor via your graphic cards' control panel. You can also fiddle around with compatibility settings. Setting it to XP (SP2/3) can help. If it doesn't, right-click on the desktop-shortcut, click on properties and add -window, ex: "D:\GOG\Spellforce.exe" - window This should allow you to start up the game and change the screen resolution setting. (After changing it, don't forget to remove the -window option in your shortcut!) In any case, with more than one monitor it is likely that you'd still have to deactivate one in order for the game to start normally.
