Is it possible to opt into the Spellforce 3: Soul harvest public test branch here on GOG? I know there's a "Beta channel" feature here on GOG which to my understanding is there same as opting into beta versions on Steam.

The reason I ask is ability cost reduction not working is causing me problems in my playthrough, and it sounds like it has been fixed in the public test version. I've put off continuing Soul Harvest for over a week hoping for a patch, and now I'd rather risk running into other bugs, while I still remember what has happened in my playthrough so far.

This issue should now be fixed publicly. At least it is since around 2 weeks on steam publicly by now.
Thanks for the reply.

Just so there isn't any confusion about terms, when you say it's fixed publicly, you mean the default, "non-test" version that you get when you haven't opted into a beta?

The ability cost reduction perks aren't working for me. Hierophant (I) isn't reducing the focus cost of any light magic, Elemental Mastery isn't reducing the focus cost of elemental magic, and Druidism isn't reducing the cost of anything.
I've tried casting the spells after taking the perks to see if it's just the tooltips, but the focus cost remain the same.

GOG Galaxy says: 1.04.73619
Ingame it says: Release Build Rev. 73619 (Sep 26 2019 13:33:45), Content Rev. 92542
I don't see any way to manually check for updates, and GOG Galaxy should Auto-update to the latest version.

Wow your version is really outdated! On Steam the public version way beyond that:

Yeah, it sucks. The focus cost reduction is such a weird bug, and it's a pretty big deal to me.

Maybe I should open a question thread asking when they'll update GOG to the latest version instead, although I don't really have any expectations since they probably have their reasons for not updating. I'll probably just restart my campaign at some point in the future if it updates.

Well if you do that, you should start a thread about requesting updates on Steam, since they are more active there then here it seems.
