DoctorGOGgles: Does this patch fix the problems the GOG version has with the videos (not displaying the intro and end videos)?
No, there is a problem on Win7 Intel Grafics and laptops.

Is the problem you are referring to this? My laptop is using Intel HD Graphics but I don't have any issues playing Space Rangers 2. Even the intro videos show.

And by the way, is Space Rangers 2: Revolution update is based on the source code of Space Rangers 2? Do you know if SNK-Games have any plans to port the game to other OS such as Linux?

Sorry, I'm just very curious that's all. :)

Well, my intro videos don't show and I'm neither playing on a laptop nor with an Intel graphics chip. I do use Win 7 though (and a Core i7 2600k with nVidia GTX 560 graphics card). At least the game itself works without problems and the videos are on youtube...

OK, correct:
There is a problem Win7x64, Intel Grafics and laptops.
I got a question or issue related to 1.81.

I have noticed that many of the spaceship names now is in Russian. How can I search for the Russian names on a government mission to find where they are in space? My keyboard only features ABC letters..

It would be great if someone could help me out here. Thanks on beforehand :)

And one question: Has it been considered to include some multi-player functionality in regards to planetary robot battles? Could be fun to do something like this over LAN ^^

mhek: 4. Delete files: "ruinname.txt" and "shipname.txt" in directory [\Mods] (russian names contain objects for mods).
The names of ships and planets are stored in save-file. New ships in the game will appear with names in Latin.

It is impossible to - Source code is unavailable and has no public access.

Well, if it isn't too late, I could. You need to add Russian language support. I assume you are using Win7, so you need to go to the Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, Keyboard and Languages and add Russian Keyboard. Once that is done, you can switch between keyboards by pressing Alt+Shift or Ctrl+Shift. Then the only thing left would be to google Russian keyboard layout to find out which keys correspond to which cyrillic letters.

Thanks! This will definitely become useful for me in-game. :)

You have to do this, as stated in the first post:

"Delete files: "ruinname.txt" and "shipname.txt" in directory [\Mods]."

After I have deleted those files, all russian names changed back to english ones.

ah yes, Malodarom also gave me a notice that I missed this part. I should pay more attention to instructions when I install patches.. @_@
