It was part of the background so you could not dock with it, and when I came back to the system later it was gone.

That was a pretty cool Easter egg.

squid830: Were you currently suffering from that disease that gives hallucinations? I think that causes things like that to appear - there may be some other similar easter eggs available from the same disease...
