Ahoy ahoy,

Maybe someone else has run into this issue, so any help is appreciated. I've downloaded a number of classic Sierra gamepacks (wicked value), but I am having colour issues with the graphics. The games (specifically I've tried SQ1 & KQ1) load up great, sound great, and play great, EXCEPT after a few moments of gameplay the colour patterns go wonky & change (for example, in SQ the colours of Roger's suit, the Arcada hallways, etc. all will change to different colours after a few moments). If you go to a menu or change screens it switches back usually, but will change again shortly after. Suffice to say, this is quite annoying, and any help or ideas regarding a setting or a reason to this would be helpful. It only seems to affect '80s AGI games, as later '90s VGA & up games work well.

I am running Windows 7 premium, on a AMD Athlon II P320 Dual Core Processor, 2100 Mhz

Thanks!
The reason for this behavior is a conflic with the graphic drivers being used for the game and Windows explorer. In the past you'd have to kill windows explorer while running the games, then run it again when you were done.

However, now there is an easier sollution. Just navigate to the folder the game is installed in. Probably something like Program Files\GOG.com\SQ13\SQ1. Then open up the file dosboxSQ1.conf (or something named similar to that).

Then edit the line that says output= to ddraw. So that it reads output=ddraw. Then save it

Thanks for the help! But I'm running into another issue. The conf file opens up in Notepad, and when I attempt to save the file ('file', 'save') it asks if I'd like to replace the current file, I say yes, but I am then told denied. Any advice on this one? Not trying to be ignorant here, I'm just kind of surprised the program won't let me save it, but then I'm a bit unfamiliar with conf files.
Never mind, I figured it out. Stupid me, it was an administrator issue. Thanks again!
