Hi all, I'm currently playing SQ4, and have found the speech output (not music) frequently skips. The audioDrv setting in my resource.cfg file is set to AUDBLAST.DRV, which is the default. I see that there are other, similarly-named driver files in the SQ4 directory (AUDDISNY.DRV, AUDPRO.DRV, AUDTHUND.DRV), plus many other .drv files. However, I can't find any documentation on which ones are actually supposed to be an option for the audioDrv (as opposed to soundDrv or the video/input/etc settings).

Any suggestions on which one I should use, or another way to solve the skipping problem? I've pasted a list of all the .drv files below.

(Side note: I changed the soundDrv setting to GENMIDI.DRV, and combined with VirtualMIDIsynth and the Timbres of Heaven soundfont, it sounds great.)

ADL.DRV
AUDBLAST.DRV
AUDDISNY.DRV
AUDPRO.DRV
AUDTHUND.DRV
GENMIDI.DRV
IBMKBD.DRV
JOYSTICK.DRV
MT32.DRV
PROAUDIO.DRV
STD.DRV
VGA320.DRV
VGA320BW.DRV

You can try playing it through ScummVM and see if that's an improvement...
