I have researched a few things (better shields, reactor and engines) but in the hangar I can´t put them into my ships. How can I build ships with the new parts?
This question / problem has been solved by Grilledfishimage
Those are passive bonuses. You always have them on all your ships.

If you mean the modules you unlock from research: those just let you equip them on your ship. You still need to buy blueprints from shops, then you can equip them on your ships in the hanger.
So it`s not enuff to research them, I also have to buy them, right? It seems as if those blueprints are not available on every station.

Yes, that's correct. Some of the higher-level blueprints require multiple parts as well, so you'll need to visit multiple stations to find them.
Aha! Are there systems with multiple Stations, or do all systems do have only two stations, a CIV-Station and a USA-Station?

I think it's just the two main factions and their stations per system. and they don't always have shops available. I think the Bounty Hunter faction never have shops.

Also, fun thing you can do: you can blow up the stations and they'll drop their blueprints so you don't have to buy them :D

Sometimes you may have the opposite problem: you'll have purchased the blueprint(s) but can't yet equip the item. A couple reasons:

- the chosen hull isn't large enough to accept that item, or doesn't have the correct hardpoint

- you might not yet have researched that group to a high enough level. The items have a minimum tech level, and you may bump into this as you encounter higher-level equipment.

Note that on the big map you can hover over the dollar sign icon, and you'll get a graphical pop-up of which items are available for sale (or plunder, muahahahhaha!) in that system.
Ahh, thanks! Some of that I figured out myself, but the thing with researching and having the right blueprints was a little bit confusing to me!
Thanks to both of you, but whom shall I give the "Problem Solved Archievement"?
Grilledfish? He was first and grilled fish is tasty!
But the dog looks so cute and he likes beer!
Grilledfish should get it.
Okay, I gave it to Grilledfish. Thanks!
