So I can't start the game. Reason is that in main menu mouse is lagging and i hear constant beeping sound. Last topic on this was from 2012 and there wasn't any solution. Anybody got the idea how to fix this?

So I had go through all suggested solutions in tech help articles. Still nothing. This is pretty irritating since problem persist for at least 7 years, if previous thread on this topic is to be believed.

I had the same problem. Thought I had tried anything but then I found the problem could be solved simply by starting the game with the "SoulbringeVCnoeax.exe" file in the installation directory.

Thanks I tried it but still it doesn't work. Oh well there are lot of games I intend to play anyway so no big, I guess.

Oldest thread in the game, but in case anyone finds this in a search with a similar problem.

This usually has to do with a mouse polling problem. Older games don't support the polling rates newer mice have.

Most mice these days however you can lower it in the software that comes with it.

One way around it is through ALT-TAB. Get the mouse cursor on the menu item you want to click, ALT-TAB out of the game, then back in and quickly click on the button you are hovering over. With enough luck and speed, one of the clicks will go through before the menu gets stuck in the "beep loop" again.

Once you are in the game, it works fine, it's just the main menu that suffers from this. Even if you manage to open the options or the load menu, it works fine. Just make sure that if you know you are about to die, load the game before you actually do. Dying irreversibly boots you to the main menu and you'll have to deal with the main menu bug again.

Polling rate has nothing to do with it. Even as low as 125 doesn't fix it.
