Well I just did it again, bought a game on GOG mostly because of a better price, without checking if there is achievements available through Galaxy.
I've tried to find some info on this now but can't find anything.
If someone knows I would very much appreciate if you'd share the knowledge.
I know it's just a few hours until release but curious to know in advance!

achievements? really? how old are you?

trek554: achievements? really? how old are you?
What does that have to do with wanting achievements?

I'd like to know myself.
I'm somewhat curious in the sense that I would like to see dev-support for Galaxy increase. And while, well, achievements don't do shit all, they're one way of seeing this support. :)

lol.
Old enough to appreciate some added challenge!

Anyways, it's less than an hour til unlock so, will know then.

This is a very good argument.

The achievements in Soma are just progression based, there's no challenge to them so it doesn't really do anything :P

Would love to know why achievements shouldn't be expected in a GoG galaxy game. I mean GoG wants more people to install the client right? well achievements are pretty popular even if the vocal minority likes to act like they are above them.

The developer has to implement them into the GOG version of the game. Frictional apparently did not. As going through the game normally will get you all the achievements on the steam version anyway, it's not as important with this game. Achievements on GOG are relatively a new thing. The only game I have right now on GOG that has achievements besides the witcher games is the Grandia II release.
Bring achievements please
Ahh. Thanks, Google. This answers my question :[
