Frustalupi: Yes sure.
I have also download again the 11GB but the error remain.
I see in internet that some users had same problem with AMNESIA.
They resolved with command "unzip ./amnesia*.sh" but if I try to unzip the SOMA*.sh I receive a "wrong zip format error" so I guess that you used a different format when created the SH archive with MAKESELF.
I talked with support of Frictional games, they told me to ask you if there is a way to extract the SH file...

Do you have any suggestion about how resolve my problem?

Thank you
Can you tell me what you get when you type the following command in terminal?

ls -ld /tmp/

drwxrwxrwt 15 root root 16384 set 24 17:50 /tmp/
Hmm, looks OK to me at first glance.

Could I ask you for an md5 of the .sh file you have right now?

Here's what I have: 917D9BF226D88B0B3B4C69E104115C45

Frustalupi: My md5 is 581017455f50554231149f361a983e89

I have try to launch the gog_soma_2.0.0.1.sh file also from a laptop with UBUNTU 15.04 and also from another desktop computer with MINT 17.2 and all give me same error.

A note:
I see that in the error there is "USING en_US"
I am italian, my lang is it_IT.UTF-8 maybe could be this the problem ?
It wouldn't the first time that a non-EnglishUS locale has caused problems but I am not sure :/

I'd also recommend a redownload of the .sh file to see if it matches the md5 I gave you :)

gerasmus: Hi there,
I am unable to install Yooka Lay-Lee on Linux Mint 18.1, due to an error.
I have redownloaded the game file at least three times, gog_yooka_laylee_2.0.0.1.sh and attempted to install without any success. I have also looked at the solution you provided here.
The game used to run fine, until I accidentally wiped the additional hard drive where it was installed. Upon redownloading and reinstalling Yooka Lay-Lee fails to install.
I noticed that setup failed at en_US, I already changed keybord to US English, made no difference.
I'm from South Africa, using Dutch language interface.

Hi,

Please try re-downloading the Linux installer and try running it again.

The md5sum for the Linux installer is as follows:
