I have the GOG version and the disc and both have the same issue. Running windows 8 and an AMD 6850 the game will only run at 1024x768. Using the internal intel (i5 CPU) card it runs at the full 1680x1050. I have the latest drivers, have tried earlier drivers and used the windows 8 generic drivers none of which helped. Worked fine on windows 7.
Has anyone a solution?
Found a solution by trial and error. Editing the options config file in the profile directory to 1680x1050 and dropping the desktop resolution to 1400x900 before starting the game (every time it is started) makes the game run in 1680x1050.

Thanks , helped!
I got it to work on my side. I wrote some instructions for it here.
I'm sorry if they are kinda incomplete. I still need to figure out how to explain some stuff a bit more easily.

It crashes on 2560x1440 for me, which kinda sucks, there's probably something else I need to change.

I know it's an old thread, but the game runs up to 1080p. You can set -w 1920 and -h 1080 the command line shortcut.

Also, the config file.

If the desktop resolution is any higher than that, it'll crash on boot. (::sadface::)

So it's not 1080p out of the box? I can't edit a inf or change rez in game? Thanks

The links (if they are links) are dead. I went to PC gaming found the page but see no instructions. It actually says 1080p native support but this thread disputs that. Clarification?
