Hey guys..
I've had this game for a while (both retail and GOG), after playing a demo of Men of War, I decided to reinstall the GOG version of HOWW2, and give it a go.
The intro movies glitch with random artifacts, rarely any movement and so on.
Opening the files outside of the game with WMP9, I've found that the files are okay and don't glitch at all.
Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix?
The only thing that has really changed since the last time I've played is the fact that I now have an LCD running at 1680 x 1050. I've updated my video card drivers, but it hasn't really helped.
Using:
WinXP Pro SP3.
P4 3.2ghz
4GB DDR2 RAM
9800GT w/512MB RAM
SB Audigy 4
Usually have Xfire and Steam running in the background, never had a problem with them before as far as HOWW2 goes.

Are there any choices for graphic settings in the game (I presently do not have it installed) that you can choose from?

There are a few choices for graphics settings, though I have played with all of them with no change. The footage generated by the game engine is fine, the glitching happens whenever the game plays the intro files (.wmv).

I read somewhere that it might be a Windows Media Player 9 problem, though it was directed to ATI users, I decreased the video acceleration within WMP9, but again, no change.

I'm really at a loss, no idea what's going on.

EDIT: Downloaded WMP11, and what do you know. The introduction movies play flawlessly now... Weird how WMP9 did the job months before, but now can't.
