Hi there,

I'm very glad that GOG allows us to legally buy the great game Soldier of Fortune II. But there are several technical problems with that game on modern systems - widescreens/resolutions problems, old and uncorrected bugs, etc.
Soldier of Fortune II is simply one of the greatest games of early 200x and it's will be cool if this project will have a second wind. There are several open-source initiatives, first of all, John Carmack open-sourced Quake III, after, Return to Castle Wolfenstein was open-sourced, and even source-codes for Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (and Jedi Outcast) that based on Quake III-GHOUL II (as SoF II) appeared in public. Why the great company Raven Software does not follow this trend? It will give the new life to the game! I believe, that after open-sourcing the engine of SoF II interest to this game should grow and people will buy new copies because it's an interesting game. Now, this project just dies...

Guys, what about to make some kind of petition/public letter to Raven Software with the request to open-source the SoF II engine? Maybe GOG team will help us to contact with Raven Software :)

Thanks
Alex
