I am curious how I get a battleship. I have the fleet skill, but I am lost at to how I get the ship....

You have to capture one during an invasion mission :) Make sure you have plenty of attack droids and crew to help with the boarding :)

You're welcome :)

Also, you don't command a fleet at all times, instead, you're kind of handed some extra ships during a fleet battle during invasion missions. Once you get the battleship, you'll see what I mean when you go perform a mission during an invasion :)

My strategy to get a battleship was to get up the the Federation Avalanche Cruiser (whether by buying it or boarding it, depending on your alignments), and then stack the crew heavily for boarding actions, and aim for Marauder battleships in a friendly system. You'll probably lose a boarding engagement or two and have to pull out, but don't be discouraged. Make sure you've got at least 10 officers in your crew to boost the marines. You'll get it eventually, and once you have the Marauder you'll have enough crew capacity to be able to board the desirable battleships.
