Issue #1:
This game has been completely unplayable on Linux since buying it. When starting it just stays in a small window with nothing in it but black and without audio. However, strangely, it WILL run if I run the gog start.sh script from console.
Issue #2:
My Xbox Series X / S wireless controller (Model 1914) will not work correctly via any method. Not with bluetooth, wireless adapter, or connected with a USB cable. It just immediately scrolls to the quit menu option and refuses to work otherwise (except for being able to quit the game). The additional required / optional libs mentioned in the README file are already installed, but I think it can't find some of them (i.e., FFMPEG libs). I've had other games with this problem and it was caused by the the game expecting certain versions of libs and it simply fails to find them if newer versions are installed. This is usually easily fixable by creating a symlink with the filename of the version it's expecting. However, I'm not certain that is what is going on with the possibly missing libs in this case.
I've never had a controller problem like this with any other game on my Linux system since I switched exclusively to Linux in 2020.
System specs:
Operating System: Garuda Linux (an Arch-based distro geared toward gaming)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0
Qt Version: 6.9.1
Kernel Version: 6.15.3-1-cachyos (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 24 × AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor
Memory: 125.7 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
Motherboard: X570 Taichi
Any suggestions? I hope I didn't waste my money on the game and its DLC for no reason.
There seems to be a number of "issues" reported in the log, including at least one I didn't mention here. Here's my log:
