For whatever reason the game is fullscreen after installing the game fresh, and as soon as I apply any settings in the menu, thats IT. I can never get it back again. I tried vid_fullscreen in the autoexec, default, and config, but nothing seems to work.

I'm having the same issue. I'm going to uninstall and reinstall it to see if that works.
