I just downloaded StS2 and there seems to be a weird bug going on. Many of the voice lines are cut off before they finish playing, It seems that if the preset time for the subtitle is shorter than the time the audio clip takes, it just crops the voice reading, meaning you miss stuff unless you read ahead of the voice actor.
I never played the original, so I don't know if this is a known issue, but is there a way to fix it?
Edit: Using my own copy of ScummVM and setting it to Speech Only mode fixes the problem... is there a way to do this with the GOG.com release, though?
Edit 2: Hmm... Just realised that pushing 'T' turns off the subtitles, making it work properly. Strange thing as the manual says the 'T' key is meant to toggle the speech on and off too, but it only ends up affecting the subtitles.
In any case, if you want to play with speech and you are finding the spoken lines are being cut off too early, just press 'T'. Subtitles will switch off and the game will play all the voices to completion.

This question / problem has been solved by Kirbenimage
Using combined speech and subtitles causes the speech to be cut off early, due to limitations of the game engine. The English data files were not designed, to handle combined speech and subtitles.
The keyboard shortcuts are slightly different to the manual, since ScummVM is been based used as the game engine:
't' turns subtitles on or off (Only if speech is enabled)
'v' turns speech or of off (Only if subtitles are enabled)

There's a better solution for those who prefer having speech+text.
Just press F3 (slow subtitle speed) and the problem will be resolved in 98% of the cases.
