Hey Guys, to make my problem short, yesterday I played Simon 2 and when I tried it one hour ago I got following error:

"scummvm.org doesn´t work anymore" When I click on details:

i looked all over the internet to find a solution myself, I installed Scummvm 1.7, tried to overwrite the msvcrt.dll, restarted my pc. Nothing helped.

No malware No Virus found. Since my last proper start of simon 2 I didn´t installed or deinstalled anything. Didn´t even made any changes to my system.

Perhaps someone of you guys may provide any help for me. Thanks inadvance.

Use the original vanilla installation of the GOG version, not the newer version of ScummVM, don't place any libraries (DLLs) in the game's folder and (re-)install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86).

If it still doesn't run, try compatibility modes as well as running the game explicitly as administrator (right-click => Run as..).

Compatibility modes was one of the things I tried first.

I solved it now, I can´t explain it, but as long as I haven´t plugged in any sound devices like my headphones or my stereo amplifier I get the error. Totally weird.

That's weird indeed, but hey, as long as it works ;-)

It seems you solved your issue, but I'd like to point this out for people who may have problems with it the future. Big ones like the Arachno Soundfont can crash the game. If you're using a huge soundfont, switch to a smaller one.
