I just tested this. and wow everything becomes alive in the city. so much more audio from buildings and such....

dsoal might be useful than for people without the hardware. looks like simcity 3000 is on the supported list. it fixed hidden and dangerous 2 for me which i think has a buggy software sound renderer and sounds bad with eax disabled.
