RPGler: I was doing the same over and over for the german language. But nothing happens. Even reinstalled the game but it stays in English. Need help please.

DukeNukemForever: I guess you use Win7 or Win8. I don't have the gog version, but try to start the language-setup as admin (right-click). It's also always good to install older games outside the program folder, as example in c:\games.

If you still have trouble changing the language you can try to do it by your own. In the game folder there are folders named by language (as example english). In this folders there should be a file called SimCityLocale.dat. Make a backup of the file in the english folder (as example just rename it SimCityLocale.dat.bak or something else) and copy the file from the german folder into it. Again, I don't have the gog version and so it maybe different.
Language Setup needs to be run with admin privileges to successfully change registry key. It's easier to change it than moving files around ;)

tburger: Ok, so what is the point of separate language installers? I downloaded English, German and Spanish - Total Commander says those files are the same (they have the same name & content).

Silverhawk170485: It is always the same installer regardless which laguage you choose from the download site. There are no different installers for this game. The one installer contains every laguage listed in the game description. You only have to install the game and then switch the language to your desired one with the Language Setup.exe as already said above.
Actually, if possible, we do provide separate installers for those games where it's possible to separate the languages. See, for example, Fragile Allegiance or Master of Might and Magic; each language has its own installer. For SimCity 4 with the languages being integrated into the main game, it's not possible to provide a separate installer for each language. We provide the same installer in this case for every language in the drop down menu so that anyone who uses a different language other than English will be able to see the installer instead of hunting around for it via the drop down menu :)

Silverhawk170485: I even prefer such multilanguage installers but I must admit that it might be a bit confusing for some users if you can select a specific language on the download site from the drop down menu and you always get the same multilanguage installer. Maybe it's possible to simply write "Multilanguage" over the installer without the dropdown menu. ;-)
non-English installers have their language added to filename. (i.e setup_etherlords2_russian)

ne_zavarj: What about the hungarian language version that GOG is advertising on the game card ?
Have you checked the language setup tool Thiev mentioned in this thread? If you don't see Hungarian in the setup tool, then please let us know ASAP.
