This is driving me nuts, but when I go into SC4, I can't load any of the premade cities that come with the game. I can load the map, but when I click on a region and choose "load city" and select the city I want out of the list, the game just sits there. Nothing happens and the region remains lifeless.

I can terraform the region just fine or build a new city myself, but I want to load New York or San Francisco or any of those that come with the game. The files are all there (I've checked) and I've followed the instructions in the manual step-by-step.

All of this amounts to a big nothing. So will someone please tell me how to load the premade cities? What am I missing or doing wrong?

Just to be sure, when you say "Load City", do you mean the "Import City" button that appears when you select a paticular tile on a region? If that's the case, then what you actually need is the "Load Region" button from the Region View Options Panel.

New York, San Francisco etc aren't premade 'cities', but premade 'regions'. They are just the geographic terrain. I'm sorry if I've misunderstood what you are saying.

No, you understood me.

If anyone misunderstood something, it was me in that I mistakenly believed those cities (i.e. New York, San Francisco, Berlin, London, etc) were included as opposed to simply being geographic terrain.

I wish it was a little clearer in-game that those cities aren't there, because in older SC titles (like SimCity 2000) they included pre-made cities.

Thanks for answering my question. :)
