Just as the title says, I am experiencing a significant drop in FPS whenever the camera moves.
I have just started the Axis campaign in the base game, and the framerate is so bad (diving even under 15 whenever I move the image) to make the game extremely unenjoyable (I have to stop on a spot for a couple of seconds before the framerate gets back to 60).

I heard that Silent Storm has several problems on nVidia cards, and right now I'm using a GTX770.
Is there any known solution? My searches didn't bring results, unfortunately.

Unfortunately I have already tried and none of the solutions there seems to work.
Setting "setvar gfx_cl_sky_textures = 0.00" helps slightly, but a gain of nearly 10 frames is not even remotely enough to fix the problem.
The Silent Storm game fix does not work on the GOG version (version mismatch or file already patched) and I have no intention to revert to an older driver: that way I might fix a problem but I'll generate hundreds more with newer games.
I think I'll write to support about this.
Try to set Antialiasing to low (or whatever is the lowest setting for this in the game).
I have played a bit with the options, and this is my result: the framerate remains stable on 60 *only* when I set the quality to low. In all the other cases it drops to 11.
That way shadows are disabled; once I do this, I can set all the rest at maximum without changes (antialiasing included).
So now at least we know the source of the problem!

Well, it's already mentioned in the thread above - http://www.gog.com/forum/silent_storm/horrible_lag_on_powerful_computer/post3
True. I wanted to be sure my problem was the same, though! :)
In have a bit of experience wit SS since it used to be my favorite game.

What I found about the gog version is that for some reason a lot of config tweaks were made. Some of these settings are not changeable via the options in game.

There is a solution though, go to graphic settings and check "restore defaults".

Then you'll have a good place to start with the other settings.

I noticed a big difference on my sistem afterwards.
I use a GTX770 on a decent Win10 PC. The game is stuttering like hell on medium quality and above. Frame rate on low quality is fine but it takes a bit of the atmosphere away.

Isn't there really no solution to solve this issue?

Thanks!
I have a GTX770 as well, and I'm experiencing this super lag when moving the camera. It makes it completely unplayable. What a damn shame. I love this game, and was super excited to replay it again, but it's impossible.. ugh..
