I'm hoping we can get the original Silent Hunter on GOG sometime.

It was very much like the Silent Hunter series, but more modern in nearly all aspects. I had mine running in DOSbox a few years ago but it's a pain to get set up for it due to setting up the disk check & such. I'd rather pay GOG for a more convenient copy.

I use LaunchBox and I recommend it highly, it's free and well supported, it's a GUI for DOSBox basically, but very appealing and well made one.

I'm running Silent Hunter Commander's Edition (CD edition) using it and it is incredibly easy to set up and run. Handles the CD image and everything just fine.

gog.com needs silent hunter 1 and also Sub Battle Simulator and Command Aces of the Deep - that 3 great old ones of the depths

yes, Command-Aces of the Deep, was a good game. better than silent hunter and silent hunter 2. only problem was you could not save game at any time, you had to return back to port to save. lol
