For some reason, the CGI cutscenes (such as the cutscene before the title screen and the ending scenes) auto skip and I don't know why. I have the Steam006 patch and I've tried changing the resolution but neither seems to work and I don't know how to fix it.

Have you tried to run the game without the patch?

The newest update from GoG's end added the remaining things from steam006's patch, and the GoG version no longer needs it.
