It may have been said previously, but I think (actually, I know) that the stuttering, other than being inherent to Unreal Engine, is due to mismatch of monitor frequency and achievable (stable) fps in game (they need to match 1:1). This belies logic and the use of VRR technology. It must be due to the delta time rendering issues.

Take for instance that I am playing on;
RTX 3090
i9 10900k
32gb DDR4
1440p max settings
DLSS Quality.

The game runs at over 60fps most times (80 usually) ....but on a refresh of 100 hz. Even if I lock the fps to 60 with VRR there is still the stutter even if there is no dip below 60fps

My monitor is a 240hz G-sync ultimate display that does, 60 hz, 100hz, 120hz, 200hz, and 240hz.

Well, I know I can achieve a locked 60fps obviously.

Thus, I change the refresh rate in Windows settings to the achievable framerate.

60fps limit in-game/60hz Windows.

Make sure to choose the 60fps limit in-game as well.

I know it makes no sense with VRR...but that's how it is working.

Try it...no mods...no Rivatuner...no nothing. It just works.

Also...v-sync off in game, but on in GPU control panel.

This is why some folks never got the stutter. They only ever had 60hz.

This seems to have removed at least 95% of the hiccups.

It's literally stuttering.. It's just less noticable because you don't play variable framerate. Ultra+ is the way to go..

No...it stutters in the video (barely) because I'm not a professional content creator, and there is a huge overhead recording in 1440p 60fps while playing. Any stutter that you see on the video is a result of that overhead. While playing without recording...it's as smooth as butter.

I have no idea what you think VRR is. Obviously in the video, it says G-sync in the upper right-hand corner. If that isn't VRR...I don't know what is. lol

Look...either try it or don't. I'm just showing folks the simplest solution. Gog users aren't always the brightest bunch, you know?

So instead of playing with mods...they can easily tweak a few settings and be good to go.

I've single-handledly fixed many games here at GOG. When I tell you something works, it works.

So instead of being a naysayer...either try it or be quiet.
